Submission
CLS will publish comparative articles in literary history, the history of ideas, critical theory, studies between authors, and literary relations within and beyond the Western tradition. CLS does not publish notes, and encourages submissions over 15 pages. Manuscripts must be submitted in duplicate and be accompanied by a return (stamped, self-addressed) envelope; documentation should conform to the endnote style of The MLA Style Manual (1985), which does not use a "Works Cited" list. Upon acceptance, the author must be prepared to submit the manuscript and a 200-word abstract on diskette, preferably in Microsoft Word format.
POLICY ON POSTING ARTICLES ON PERSONAL/INSTITUTIONAL WEB SITES:
You may post the pre-copyedited version (preprint) on your personal and institutional
Web site, so long as it is accompanied by a link giving the URL for the final
version at Project Muse's Web site and a copyright notice as it appears in the
journal.
